This blog: Semi-sporadic entries about my travels and other activities, and some off-the-cuff rants about miscellaneous things. It was primarily intended to chronicle the course of volunteer work in Panama starting in early 2012, but that gig didn’t work out. So, back to the initial range of subjects. My original goal of posting once or twice a week went away a looong time ago. I try to post pretty promptly when I both have a good Internet connection and have something interesting to say, but sometimes I’m at sea or just don’t have much going on.
I try to write intelligibly but make no promises about maintaining letter-perfect, classical style or mechanics. At this point, I’m pretty much just letting ‘er fly.
Me: Living aboard my boat and cruising since 2006. Spending much more time on land in the Pacific Northwest since mid-2013, hanging out and working on my house and volunteering as a tutor and food bank worker. Extensive travels around Latin America as well as sailing and teaching English. Favorite places (so far): Mendoza province (Argentina), Cuenca (Ecuador), Banderas Bay (Mexico). Secular humanist, wild-eyed socialistic liberal (just deal with it, OK?).
My boat: a Passport 40, sloop rigged, presently on the hard in San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico.
Hi there – I believe I see your boat on the hard in Australia. AND that you happen to have a Portland Pudgy Dinghy in the back. I’m at the same yard currently (doing maint/repairs).
If this is your boat, I’m curious/interested to hear if you have the oars (or at least one of the oar blades) and are willing to sell ?
I know it’s unlikely, but times are complicated – so I figured it could not hurt to ask.
